Retail 1.0 release. With NO updates!Â
With the native Linux installer by icculus there is no need to use Wine anymore!
Graphics, sound, input, single player campaign, saving, loading, autosave, key authentication, and anything else I fail to mention.
What does not
Game refuses to run without No-CD crack. Sound breaks unless DirectSound hardware acceleration is set to at least Basic. Surround sound doesn't work, game refuses to recognize surround hardware.
What was not tested
Multiplayer. I nabbed this gem exclusively for the single player campaign.
The sound backend is based on OpenAL, and installs an OpenAL32.dll under C:\Windows\System32. I can't help but wonder if it would be possible to connect the game to a native version of OpenAL by replacing that DLL and get surround sound working that way. Any takers?
