What works

Everything as far as I can tell. Some redraw issues with popup windows. Redraw is completed when you e.g. run another window or menu over the affected window ( to force desktop redraw ). Note that the dialogs, including the technology browser, work find. Tried under win 98 and win 3.1 mode settings and redraw issue remains. Using KDE with Ati card and appropriate drivers. Otherwise seems to play.

Help ( player guide opens, but cannot navigate or search ).

Additional Comments

When you run the game I would suggest renaming "stars!.exe" to s.exe to simply running the game from console. During install and when starting a new game you need to access dialogs hidden behind the splash screen. I use KDE and from the desktop right click and choose "cascade windows" to force the window up. This lets you enter the key code as well as the new game dialog.
