What works
Everything.
- Installation: winxp (others not tested), had to navigate to the install-disc; 'wine path-to-setup.exe' wouldn't work, installshieldbugfix was installed (not tested without).
- Sound : no problems, alsa.
- Running the game: no problems, winxp (others not tested). Very decent framerates with an nvidia 7300GT videocard and the latest nvidia driver (100.14.19).

What does not
Enabling the "next generation textures" caused the game to slow down to a crawl. This is probably no wine-issue though. (A 7300GT just isn't good enough.)
