What works
I copied the windows install file over and it worked. Then it stopped working. But i seem to have fixed that by setting all Sound Options to ALSA. I haven't had a chance to try it all yet, but it opens and plays some old acid work i have done so it seems to all work fine.

so glad it works! Actually its wine 0.9.59 for some reason - its what comes with Ubuntu. dont know why its so old. not going to risk upgrading though yet.
