Only one issue keeps me from embracing Linux completely. I need to work with CAD programs. AutoCAD, Revit, ArchiCAD and Spirit are currently what most architects and building consultants require to accomplish their work. (Windows Xp or Mac). Unfortunately, Open Source software and programs written for Linux do not offer the architects a viable alternative. There are no programs available to my knowledge that come even close to what is available in Windows or Mac. I'd really like to see Spirit operate on Linux. I've been told that DataCAD (from which Spirit evoloved in Germany) has a Lite version that works using wine except the standard version doesn't work because of the hardware lock. I don't believe anyone has tried to solve this issue. I'm a newbie to Ubuntu but would like to put some effort into solving this issue because I like Linux. I'm not sure the version of wine I have installed. I just downloaded it and installed it a couple of days ago. "deb http://wine.budgetdedicated.com/apt dapper main"
