What works

Works like under Windows. Even X3-files can be stored and opened perfectly.

What does not

Workarround after installation necessary

Workarounds

Workarround for installation:

Make a prefix for instance using Q4Wine, win32 and WinXP or Win2000. Higher versions do not work.
Copy all data from Your installation-dvd to a drive of the wine-tree, for instance C:\YourFolder. Installation
from external drive or a mounted ISO-Image will not work.
Let run installation. The installation-process will do some messages, you can ignore. The process should run
without problems.
After installation the program will simply not run, with a message that UI-Language can not be found. There for
the language, you want to use, must be installed manually: Inside the
CorelDRAW X3 CD, navigate to CGS13 folder, and extract the contents of
EN.MSI (You will have to use a software which extracts MSI files while
keeping subfolders structure. This is possible in Windows using a
software called "LessMSI", which doesn't seem to run in wine. Any other
alternative is possible, the only requirement being that the extracted
files are placed in the subdirectory structure defined by the MSI.)
Inside the extracted folder, there will be a folder called "Languages"
This folder should be placed inside the folder .wine/drive_c/Program
Files/Corel/CorelDRAW Graphics Suite 13/ Create a 'file.reg' file with
the following contents: REGEDIT4
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Corel\CorelDRAW\13.0\Languages]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Corel\CorelDRAW\13.0\Languages\ENU]
"DirName"="EN" "UIName"="English-US" Run regedit in a linux terminal.
Import the created file.reg

Easyer way: if you have the opportunity to install CorelX3 on a Windows-PC install it

and copy the folder c:/Program Files/Corel/CorelDRAW Graphics Suite 13\Languages from the WinPC to your
appropriate wine-tree.
Than You need to open regedit in Q4Wine system-folder. Import there a
file.reg, which consists of the following lines (for german, other
languages accordingly):
REGEDIT4

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Corel\CorelDRAW\13.0\Languages]

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Corel\CorelDRAW\13.0\Languages\DEU]
"DirName"="DE"
"UIName"="Deutsch-DE"
after importing this file in regedit, the program should work, but does
not. You have to restart the whole computer, not only wine. Than corel
draw, photopaint and so on should run.

What was not tested

only fast tested was photopaint. CorelDraw X3 worked perfectly.

Set WINE to 5 in playonlinux
Set Windows version to WIN10
Set msvcr90,msxml4, msxml6,ole32,oleaut32,riched32,rpcrt4 to (builtin,native).
After that opening X3 13 files works fine! Someone coplained before that they crashed the app and that was true.
