If you need to start the demo manually, do it via "~/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/EA Games/American McGee's Alice Demo$ wine alice.exe" at the command line without quotes, because there was no shortcut placed on desktop. Removed demo files and directories manually at the command line as no listing could be seen in the list of programs in "wine uninstaller" without quotes.
