What works

* Installation; when installation is almost complete a DirectX installation window appears during which you should kill this process (the directx .exe file) and then the DirectX install window will close and you will then click Finish on the Men of Valor Single Player Demo Installer program window to complete the installation

* Shortcut placed on KDE 3.5.3 Desktop

* Starting the game from the command line via "~/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/2015/Men of Valor Single Player Demo/PC_SP_Demo/system$MoV_SpDemo.exe -opengl" without quotes. (but mouse pointer icon returns to center with any movement, see what doesn't work below for more details) When the game is started in this way from the command line, some music starts with some skipping and a menu is presented with a few options, along with a picture in the background. The music eventually plays normal after a few seconds, but moving the mouse to navigate the menu options is next to impossible as the mouse pointer icon returns to the center with any movement)

* Uninstall via "wine uninstaller" without quotes; manually removed the two empty directories in Program Files following the uninstall, manually removed the desktop shortcut icon following the uninstall

What does not

~ Starting the game from the desktop shortcut icon (the sound of music skipping is heard but no picture, desktop changes to 640x480)

~ When the game is started from the command line per the instructions I gave above in What Works, the mouse pointer icon continues to return to the center of the screen with any movement. After repeated attempts to move the mouse to the right hand of the screen over the start game menu choice and random mouse clicks hoping to get it to start, I finally lucked out and with the first menu item choice selected by luck, a loading screen appeared with a few facts about the type of men who went to fight in Vietnam. After a few seconds the game quit from this loading screen to the command line where I had started it manually from, and dumped a long list of debugger information, which should be of use to the wine developers should they try this demo and find the info for themselves.

~ Gameplay doesn't work as the game exits at the loading screen following your choice of the start game
