What works

* Installation
* Starting the game manually via "~/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/Starcraft Shareware(ED)$ wine Starcraft.exe" without quotes at the command line (no desktop shortcut icon was generated following installation)
* In-game menus and options
* Playing the game; I played all of the levels in this demo except for the tutorial because I didn't want to waste my time with a tutorial
* Uninstall via "wine uninstaller" without quotes

What does not

~ N/A; Everything I tested worked perfectly

What was not tested

- Tutorial mission; I skipped it, I'm sure it works though
- Multiplayer; I had no interest in testing it (only chatting is possible in Demo)

Hardware tested

Fix hang/slow-down on unit selection
If you happen to suffer from major slow-downs when some particular type of unit is selected (e.g. an overlord), download cnc-ddraw, place it in the game folder and set a DLL override on it.

Run the game once and it will generate ddraw.ini in the game folder. You can edit this configuration file to your preference. Example:

  ; restore mouse
  ; smooth a graphics
  ; run in fullscreen
Some Wine versions (e.g. 1.7.46 -- 1.7.47) hang completely with their native ddraw. CNC-ddraw will fix this issue as well.
