Final release version of Narbacular Drop.
Download from DigiPen (http://downloads.digipen.edu/arcade/downloads/047/Narbacular_Drop.exe) is much smaller than the old installer and will not install. Corrupted file perhaps?
Archived below is the original version description:
This is the final release for our DigiPen game class. All features are complete. Enjoy the fruits of our labor!
the install is fine but you have to use the mirrored .exe, not the one from their own server. it says the file from the homepage is corrupt and to find a different .exe; the mirror one works perfectly (supplied link in download page)
What does not
it takes control of your mouse regardless if you set up wine config to not "allow control of mouse". keyboard shortcuts like alt-tab allow you to regain control of your mouse on other apps while still having the game up.
while mouse navigation is fine, in the menus you have to repeatedly push the mouse button to select. during the game you just hold the mouse button down and then let go to place a portal wherever.
the blue and orange glow indicators on the portal don't show up on my install, but doesn't really affect the game.
thats it, nothing bad.
What was not tested
The game is fine.
good game to check out if you wanna see the "spiritual predecessor" to the critically acclaimed game Portal, by the same developers. much like Marathon is to Halo. and good work on development of wine, this is really a great project!
