I was able to make it run, but the graphics is bad.
Installed it in Win95 mode
Didn't install the DirectX3 (h2gl won't work)
It takes some time to install (be patient, it may look like it crashed, but it didn't) - Run it with the -noipx argument...
Initially, I had a problem with the Desktop Effects xgl with the mouse scrolling out of the windows. Better is not to use the mouse over edge option.
wine h2.exe -dibonly -noipx -nojoy -nowindirect
Don't try to run in window mode.
NOTE: this is a 1996 program so your graphics expectations should be set LOW... VERY LOW...
There is an open source version of it anyway (haven't tested it but it is at uhexen2.sourceforge.net/ ) good luck.
What does not
What was not tested
more than level1 (since the graphics were so bad, I gave up).
I put Bronze because it is ugly by 2006 graphics standard...
