What works

Every function seems to work. Setting an image as the desktop background doesn't work on the host desktop environment (for obvious reasons), but it does work if Wine is set to emulate a virtual desktop. Requires "mfc42u.dll" from a Windows XP installation or copied from an XP CD-ROM to be present in the same directory.

What was not tested

The only thing not tested was printing, as I do not have a printer to use in testing.

HowTo / Notes

HOWTO
Take the file mspaint.exe from your Windows XP/NT/2000 system folder, as well as the file MFC42U.DLL. Put these both in the same folder somewhere with wine.
