From the Line 6 website:"Line 6 Edit 3.0 includes many new Tone editing & interface improvements, support for the latest Vetta II, PODxt firmware, models and the Bass Expansion Model Pack, as well as improved interaction with the redesigned Custom Tone site, and more!"
Note: the java installer within the Line 6 Edit install package will probably not work. I had to download the manual offline installation of the JRE 1.5 from sun.com, and then I had to install it in a separate winebottle (it didn't want to install in my main Wine installation). I then copied the appropriate files and registry settings over, and now Java works).
Once you get java working, Line 6 Edit will run its first window and not ask for Java.
What does not
Running the program. The program "hangs" at the first Setup dialogue. On the console, there are several Direct3D fixmes.
It appears the Line 6 Edit uses DirectDraw and Direct3D to draw its interface and widgets, and however they've done that is either unimplemented or simply not working in Wine.
What was not tested
I'm going to file a bug for the D3D fixmes.
