What works
As the Gentoo tester said, I can open up a form, mark check boxes, delete existing text and save the file and reopen it with the changes.
I didn't get the error message he reported using Wine 0.9.38. I did see it in 0.9.33.

Typing or editing text. You can type the first character, then nothing happens.
