What works

Basic connection only.

What does not

Upon connection, softphone returns following error: "The Avaya IP Service Provider could not be started. Restart Avaya IP Softphone and try logging in again. If the problem persists, restart Windows and try again. If the problem persist, re-install the application." After about 30 seconds, the application returns the following error: "A connection timeout error has occurred with the Avaya IP Service Provider (SCAPI). Avaya IP Softphone cannot connect to this Service Provider. Exit and restart Avaya IP Softphone. If this problem persists, contact your system administrator." Attempting to launch the "iclarity" application results in the exact same errors. Since iClarity is required for a voip connection with the Avaya system, the software is not able to place a call.

Additional Comments

In order to get the installation to run, I had to modify quite a bit. Here are the steps I used to get the softphone this far: 1. Export the dialing properties from an actual windows box in REGEDIT 4 format 2. Import the dialing properties into Wine using regedit.exe 3. Use "WineTricks" to install jet40 4. Copy the following dll files from a windows box into Wine: Wsock32.dll Mprapi.dll Adsldpc.dll Activeds.dll Setupapi.dll Samlib.dll Rtutils.dll Atl.dll 5. Use regsvr32 to register all of the dll files in step 4
