Pretty much all of Trainz 2006 Full retail version with SP1 installed works properly.

What does not

So far - everything works. Content Manager can be a little temperamental, especially when downloads are taking place, but if you don't have the actual download tab displayed while its downloading, its fine.

In order for everything to work properly, make sure that you have OpenGL with proprietary drivers installed and direct rendering working properly, and wine configured properly (graphics, audio etc), then run regedit and navigate to the following key in the registry... HKEY_CURRENT_USER -> Software -> Wine -> X11 Driver Add a string value with the name... ClientSideWithRender For its value, set it to ... N (this registry key fixes the known disappearing font problem) you have to install Trainz 2006 fresh, then BEFORE running the application the first time, apply the Trainz 2006 Service Pack 1. Trainz works best when you have the graphics set to DirectX - OpenGL is faster, but water rendering doesn't work when using OpenGL. Everything renders properly with Direct X, but the framerate is a bit lower. It is a little better when you use the native windows d3d9.dll if you have it available. The following keys must be set to the following values for Wine to render TRS2006's text properly:

• HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wine\X11 Driver\ClientSideWithRender created but not set.

Do install .NET when prompted.

Do not install DirectX 9 when prompted by the installer. Recent versions of wine already have DX9; installing the Microsoft version will cause problems.
