What works

Just about everything. I revised two books (3,000+ pages). Truth in advertising: The production editor takes what I hand them and processes it in Windows, so not everything has to work perfectly for me.

What does not

Type 1 fonts don't work (unless you manage to get ATM to work). Dag Wieers suggests to convert to TrueType (http://dag.wieers.com/howto/bits/wine-framemaker-type1.php), and that worked for me
Printing to PDF didn't work for me
EPS with EPSI showed up as gray rectangles
