What works

I installed Adobe Flash Player 9.0.16.0 exe file installation by using Wine 0.9.21 on my Asus Laptop L2000E running Ubuntu Dapper Drake 6.06 LTS. The install is smooth except some OpenGL issues but it did not affect the overall installation and continuous execution of the installation program. The running of Flash Games is smooth as well.

(The original guide is found in http://www.howtoforge.com/ubuntu_flash_player9)

But, I utilized the guide in a different manner.

The Firefox that i installed is Firefox Setup 1.5.0.7.exe as I downloaded it from http://www.getfirefox.com

The Wine is installed by using the guide in http://www.winehq.org/site/download-deb

The Adobe Flash Player 9.0.16.0 exe is downloaded from http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash

I test a Flash Game found in http://www.addictinggames.com/ It is very smooth. The game that i choose for testing is Fly Girrl. The running is very nice and even with game sound. My Laptop did not go into the blazing hot mode (fan turning on) while running two Firefox windows at the same time while playing the game. (with few Tabs inside each of them).

Wine 0.9.21 for Adobe Flash Player 9.0.16.0 rocks on Ubuntu Dapper Drake. -)-)

All right.

By using console:

sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list

Add in:-
deb http://wine.budgetdedicated.com/apt dapper main
deb-src http://wine.budgetdedicated.com/apt dapper main

Then, type

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install wine

Download Firefox 1.5.0.7 into a folder and install by typing the following in the console inside that particular download folder.

sudo wine Firefox\ Setup\ 1.5.0.7.exe

Then, I run Firefox with the following command in the console:-

sudo wine .wine/drive_c/Program\ Files/Mozilla\ Firefox/firefox.exe

It starts ok with just a couples of error message. But, these did not affect the successful running of Firefox.

Then, I visited the Adobe website to get the latest Flash Player.
Download it and install by using console:

sudo wine install_flash_player.exe

At first, some error messages appear. Ithought the installation is not ok. But, after visiting the testing page provided by Adobe at http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/ Installation of Flash player is OK.
