Peachtree Complete Accounting

What works

I have only had success installing Peachtree when WINE is emulating Windows 98. For some reason the relative directories do not get resolved correctly and one must manually place them under Program Files/Sage Software/Peachtree etc.

It will install when WINE is emulating Windows 2000 but seems to choke when you try and run it even with the directory fixes one must make after the installer finishes.

Afteri t is installed it seems to work decently. Payroll and Vendor lists which are the main parts I use work great. Most of the items in the "Maintain" menu work well.
Bussiness reports work as of WINE .9.23 which is an improvement from 4/5/2006 when I last tried Peachtree with WINE. Backup and restore works great regardless of a local restore or restoring from a windows restore file. Pretty much anything not mentioned in the doesn't work sections seems to behave nicely.

What does not

Occasionally the WINE Gecko HTML rendering fails to display things right but mainly just on screens that you never use (registration - can still register just looks wierd, about, etc).

In the "Tasks" menu some things cause a crash: "Quotes and Sales Orders", "Sales/Invoicing", "Credit Memos", "Purchase Orders", "Account Reconcilliation".

In the "Reports" menu some things don't work: "Internal Accounting Review", "Daily Register", "Crystal Report Designer".

Most of the services menu requires several clicks before displaying.

Workarounds

What was not tested

There are many many many options and reports that Peachtree can utilize. I have tested a few. What I have done is gone through and used the program as I would in everyday plus have gone through each item of the top level menus and tried one arbitrary action.
