What works
Deck editor, single player solitare mode, multiplayer
What does not
The chat window still does not anchor. I cant get the banned card references to show, but I might have not installed them, if they were not installed by default.
Added by Renato Alves: This is a known problem that also affects the Windows installation. The fact is that the files are not included in the installation package. I also have no idea where to get these files. Not even older versions.
Workarounds
What was not tested
Sealed deck creator
Hardware tested

Additional Comments
Ocasionally after a few games it will give me a rich edit error in the chat box. Restarting the application works just fine, and the error is not fatal so you can still save.

Apprentice has to be run from the game path, i.e.:
$ cd ~/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/Apprentice
$ wine Appr.exe
otherwise there will be a runtime error at start.
Getting the files:
All the files can be downloaded here
You will also need unzip to install the Future Sight Patch
If the current "full download" version already includes all sets up to the latest, you can jump the patching steps.
Steps:
Put the downloaded files in your home -> ~/
Note: Lines that start with $ are shell commands
Start the installation process:
$ cd
$ wine Apprentice.exe
Installation will require Gecko (Mozilla HTML engine) to be downloaded and installed. When prompted make sure you click Install
If you are not prompted about Gecko move or backup your ~/.wine folder to something like ~/.wine.old_bkp and try again with a fresh install (as fresh install I mean deleting the ~/.wine folder after backup, not reinstalling wine on you system). If you already did this and it didn't work try to install Gecko manually (sorry but I couldn't find an how-to on this).
After downloading you will find an WinRAR self-extracting archive. Change the destination to whatever fits you better. For this HOW-TO it will be used the default folder "C:\Program Files\Apprentice"
Ignore any errors that might pop-up in your console
You will now have Apprentice installed in your ~/.wine folder. If you used the default settings you can find the Apprentice folder in ~/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/Apprentice
Now lets install the Future Sight Patch
$ cd ~/.wine/drive_c/Program\ Files/Apprentice
$ unzip -o ~/future_sight_patch.zip
You now have Apprentice ready to be played.
A big note here: You need to do the following to run the game:
If you are in the folder where we unzipped the patch then simply run:
$ wine Appr.exe
If you are anywhere else you need to enter the Apprentice folder first:
$ cd ~/.wine/drive_c/Program\ Files/Apprentice
and then
$ wine Appr.exe
If you launch the game from other folder with a command line like:
$ wine ~/.wine/drive_c/Program\ Files/Apprentice/Appr.exe
You will get the following or a similar error: Runtime error 217 at 0009943B
Also change or delete the desktop file created by wine installation process. That link might not work.
Make sure it changes to the directory mentioned before and runs Appr.exe from there.
If you did everything right you will now have Apprentice on your screen.
Troubleshooting:
The only known problem (so far) is the message window that doesn't anchor to the main window. You can work around that by resizing Apprentice window and placing the message window below. Check the screenshot for tip on window arrangement.
