- Civilization3.exe starts splashscreen, intro-movie, main menu.

- All items in the mainmenu work (as in, bring you to the intended spot.)

 

What does not

- actually play a game

- in New Game mode, you get as far as selecting land and culture, but when actually starting the game, it crashes.

Additional Comments

in wine =< 0.9.54 wine crashed with a 'unable to allocate drawbuffer' error. now, wine just crashes. Note: I solved the garbled font problem in main menu and tooltips for wine 0.9.54 and lesser with copying LSANS.TTF to LSANS.fot

copy LSANS.TTF to LSANS.fot­

find your LSANS.ttf file in C:\...\Civilization III folder

(for example. in console type this: cd ~/.wine/drive_c/.../Civilization III )

and copy &; paste your LSANS.ttf file to LSANS.fot.

your error message will goes away :)
