It opens the software (see comments below), and can open and edit all files types (Graphical, Symbol, Text, Waveform Editors), can assembly circuits and user the libraries.

What does not

The simulation does not work because of error in the fitter, cannot open files in drives other than the one in which Max+Plus is installed.

To the software starts properly, it's needed to configure wine to send him the HD serial number as registered in Altera's home page.

HowTo / Notes

HOWTO start the software
Max+Plus requires a license which depends on HD serial number. A student version of this license can be obtained in the developer's website for free. In order to make the license valid, it's important to configure Wine to send Max+Plus the appropriate HD serial number: 1. Run $ winecfg 2. Go to the drives tab 3. Select the drive where Max+Plus is installed in the list 4. Click in advanced options 5. Fill the "Serial number" field with the number associated with the license
