Quake III: Arena or Team Arena

What works

everything works beautifully.

just put the CD in the CD-ROM. wine the "setup.exe". install the game.
dload the win32 version of the q3apoints here - http://www.fileplanet.com/61607/60000/fileinfo/Quake-III-Arena-Point-Release-(v1.32)-Final
wine it.

voila. done. just start the game with the desktop shortcut. doesn't even need the -opengl parameter.

wines much better than it runs on Mikkkro$oft Window$

two minor errors:

you might get a popoup warning you about "Low Desktop Color Depth". ignore it. doesn't matter whether you choose "ok", "cancel" or if you simply close the window. the 3D is fine anyway.

I had a minor problem. when choosing a higher resolution, or changing the sound quality, or doing something else that required the game to reboot - I wasn't able to move the mouse around. had to restart the game.

but neither of these errors comes even close to bugging me as much as the errors I experienced in Windows did.

If mod's are not working on Wine they cannot be taken from the Games rating. Retail the game works fine.
