* Installation and shortcut placement on desktop
What does not
~ Clicking on the desktop shortcut icon to start the demo brings up a window titled "Protection System" and the word "Error" inside it with two buttons labeled "Information" and "OK", beneath the buttons in this window it read, "Internal error when accessing one of the application's libraries. Contact your Customer Support. Error code: 997." I clicked on the Information button and it said "Collecting system information, please wait" followed by a progress bar. When the progress bar completed it said, "Save the below report details. You will need this data when contacting Customer Support: 126.96.36.199;300D; DrvOpen failed, LE:997" after this I clicked the Back button followed by the OK button to quit.
~ Uninstall via "wine uninstaller" without quotes at the command line fails with a message popping up in a window titled "StillLifeDemo" and the words "An installation support file could not be installed. (0x8000ffff)" I clicked OK and it exited the uninstall process. I manually removed the installed files and directories (~/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/The Adventure Company/Microids/StillLife Demo) manually as well as the desktop shortcut icon.
What was not tested
- Nothing as the game gives error message and exits when you click OK within the error message window as described above in what doesn't work
