What works
* Installation; but no shortcut placed on desktop
* Running the configuration program to modify display settings via "~/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/The Adventure Company/Jack The Ripper Demo$ wine Configure.exe" without quotes at the command lineand changing configuration options (though once it showed the test menu with options, the mouse cursor icon returned to the center of the screen with any movement, I had to ALT+TAB out of it and CTRL+C at the X Terminal where it was running to make it exit)
* Starting the game via "~/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/The Adventure Company/Jack The Ripper Demo$ wine Configure.exe wine Jack.exe" without quotes at the command line.(though once it showed the test menu with options, the mouse cursor icon returned to the center of the screen with any movement, I had to ALT+TAB out of it and CTRL+C at the X Terminal where it was running to make it exit, followed by typing "killall jack.exe" without quotes at the command line to stop it from continuing to run in a frozen state)
* Uninstall via "~/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/The Adventure Company/Jack The Ripper Demo$ wine Unwise32.exe" without quotes at the command line; manually removed remaining file and directories.
What does not
~ The test menu following modification of display settings by running Configure.exe (as mentioned above in what works) (once it showed the test menu with options, the mouse cursor icon returned to the center of the screen with any movement, I had to ALT+TAB out of it and CTRL+C at the X Terminal where it was running to make it exit)
~ Starting the game by running Jack.exe (as mentioned above in what works) (though once it showed the test menu with options, the mouse cursor icon returned to the center of the screen with any movement, I had to ALT+TAB out of it and CTRL+C at the X Terminal where it was running to make it exit, followed by typing "killall jack.exe" without quotes at the command line to stop it from continuing to run in a frozen state)
~ Unable to start a game once inside the the initial in-game menu, unable to select any option in the initial in-game menu
~ Uninstall via "wine uninstaller" without quotes at the command line; the title is not listed in the wine uninstaller menu, however I did manage to uninstall it via the method mentioned above in what works.
Workarounds
What was not tested
- Nothing other than mentioned above, because of the mouse cursor icon continuing to return to the center of the screen with any movement.
