Close Combat: A Bridge Too Far

What works

Game runs fine. A bit slow, but playable. Fullscreen and windowed mode both working.

What does not

Installation from CD. Installer freezes and refuses to do what it's supposed to do. Possibly because of missing registry entries.

Alternatively used the Cc2 version found on underdogs abandonware site. (Possibly msvbvm60.dll needed to get the registry entries done - just copy the .dll into wine's system32 directory.)

Scrolling won't work in upward direction when in fullscreen mode, but works fine in windowed mode.

Avoid pressing F1 for help browser. The cc2.hlp file gets well rendered, but that's all it does get properly. Browsing the helpfile is not functioning.

Additional Comments

Wine claims Tahoma Fonts when starting Cc2, although msttcorefonts are installed. But the game will also run without. Maybe the message is displayed even though the fonts are installed. Wine reports a lot of "fixme:ddraw:IDirectDrawClipperImpl_SetClipList (0x1cdf98,(nil),0),stub!" errors when running the game, but it seems to make no trouble.
