What works
Everything - beside screwed up panel displays with transparent overlays. Can fix if you select toolboxes (such as Actions, Channels, Layers) by each other in menu. If display is screwed up, deselect and reslect it. Only reselected will get displayed and can be worked with properly.
All basic functions and most sophisticated tools work properly. No crashes! More stable than CS2 in all core functions.
What does not
This new frameoverlays dispay strange. Woraround: "fvwm2", which is more flexible in handle windows. Select Windows Focus mode - mandatory. If strange and misdisplayed overlays hides the main window, just resize to a smaller size and maximize again.
WARNING: Installation need to be performed, following the described method below in wine 0.9.57 only(!). Setup.exe has thatfore to be executed from insde the directory. Installation dialogs will be screwed up a bit, just click to "proceed" and ignore. After 10min (Pention III 1Ghz) the final prompt will apear telling you everything has been installed fine.
Bridge can be worked with but is awfully slow, since alle the wdigets and plainview redisplayes every click and mouse movements you do. Preview of files very fast. Much faster then any native linux pogramm I seen.
Workarounds
What was not tested
Everything was tested. Full production work possible with minor obstacles when dialogues fail to display properly. Main graphic window without drawbacks.
Hardware tested

Additional Comments
Install with 0.9.57!!! And use method described below. Setup.exe should be run inside the Directory. Later upgrade Wine to the newest version. For those none hackers! - don't modify the .wine Directory. Store it at a separate position and work with the WINEPREFIX Environment Variable.

First off: don't expect this to work well. Wine does not yet support Photoshop CS3. Only read these instructions if you feel like fiddling around, not if you expect to get a working Photoshop.
OK, now that you know that Wine does not yet fully support Photoshop CS3, here's how I got it to install and run today with wine-1.1.6:
$ cd .wine/drive_c/Program\ Files/Adobe/Adobe\ Photoshop\ CS3 $ wine Photoshop.exe
That's it! It runs very slowly, though. Hats off to Jacek for fixing the installer!
I have had problems with the app's license manager giving up because the app was running too slowly. When this happens, you have to remove ~/.wine and reinstall.
Thanks to earther for the following email:
I was having problems with the Photoshop 7 ALT-Click keybinding in a new Debian install running Compiz. I did the standard window manager tweak but it still didn't work properly. Then I discovered an ALT-Click keybinding in the Compiz Window Management > Move Window > Initiate Window Move settings. I changed it to 'super' like in Gnome window management and voila, it seemed to get it working again in Photoshop. You might want to add that bit of info to the clone tool info on the Photoshop 7 page. earther
