The PC version has native support limited to a software display mode and an accelerated Glide mode, because in 1998, 3DFX cards were the de facto standard for gaming 3D graphics. However, modern computers can run the game in accelerated mode with the wrapper dgVoodoo, which translates Glide calls into Direct3D calls. This Application also supports OpenGL, Direct3D and can be ran under 8-Bit Software Rendering.

I used wine git not 1.0-rc2. Given it fails in the same way with 0.9.58, I expect this to be the same for real 1.0-rc2.
