Additional Comments

I have play 6hours without any crash! Really a big surprise with wine! The game needs dbghelp.dll to be set to "native", otherwise it will crash at startup. It's really really slow, as usual with wine.

HowTo / Notes

Get Anno 1701 working with wine

You need a nocd crack. The 1.02 wont work so use the 1.01 one.

Next, use winecfg to make a dll override for the Anno1701.exe. Set dbghelp to native, when the warning comes up just click ok.

Open regedit, visit http://wiki.winehq.org/UsefulRegistryKeys
and set

OffscreenRenderingMode to fbo

UseGLSL to enabled

If you start from a fresh wine install, you probably have to create these strings first.

Ingame just deactivate Bloom, as it makes the screen turn black. If you have Sound Problems, set the sound to mono.
