What does not
1. Game does crash immediately when launching (there's a Game log window that appear, but because of the low resolution (640x480?) I can't read it).
Workarounds
1. I tried: patch v1.0.0 to v1.40, arguments '+set r_fullscreen 0'. But my only working workaround was to install the unofficial patch v1.42d (2015, made by Knightmare).

Laptop, screen 1368x768.
Wine prefix I used: amd64, winxp. Note: I did a 'winetricks corefonts', but I am not sure if this is really required.
I used the retail CD-ROM v1.0.0 english.

If you notice the crash during game start, it could be caused by issue in AMD/Mesa drivers.
To workaround it, run the game with following environment variables set:
NVidia: __GL_ExtensionStringVersion=17700 wine WolfSP.exe
Intel/AMD: MESA_EXTENSION_MAX_YEAR=2005 wine WolfSP.exe
