What does not

mpeg videos with AC3 sound - can not hear the sound track when previewing the Video.

Sound does make it on to the authored DVD though.

You probably need to install the AC3 decoder to be able to preview AC3 sound.

Also a trap for beginners who have rendered the mpeg files using Kdenlive: If you choose "file rendering" as the destination for the mpeg then all the files - no matter what bit rate you encoded them at - will be reported by Tmpgenc DVD Author as having too high a bit rate. (Tmpgenc DVD Author will report them as 104 Mbits/s )

This problem can be solved by choosing DVD as the destination in the Kdenlive render option.
