Installs and plays well, but rather slow.
It hangs with Memory Access error or with gray screen sometimes.
All in default (XP) config, no change is needed.
Everything plays, including music and sounds, in high detail and max (for me) definition, that is 1280x800 32-bit colours.
What does not
It hangs when trying to change mech name. Then it freezes with gray screen, for good (although it sometimes comes up the "quit" dialog).
What was not tested
Several "dropzones", other mech configurations.
In some "dropzones" it hangs (mem. access error) every time while in combat. Expecting the new 2.3, with its new advanced graphics.

Use the AT1nofasttext.exe executable to start the game. While launching, you will need to 'click away' the 3 splash screens.
Mechlab may be broken.
If you get a "memory access violation" when running in virtual desktop mode, delete/truncate system.ini or win.ini in the windows folder. I know that his doesn't make any sense, but it works. If you're not running virtual desktop and still get the error, delete the windows/temp/at1temp folder
