While launching, AT1 eats RAM like hell and tries to initiate its sound system. Just wait, and set the sound to audible levels in the settings screen afterwards (number keys to navigate)

Use the AT1nofasttext.exe executable to start the game. While launching, you will need to 'click away' the 3 splash screens.
Mechlab may be broken.
If you get a "memory access violation" when running in virtual desktop mode, delete/truncate system.ini or win.ini in the windows folder. I know that his doesn't make any sense, but it works. If you're not running virtual desktop and still get the error, delete the windows/temp/at1temp folder
