What works
I was pretty surprised by how much was working in the simulator. Pretty much everything worked fine in the simulator. But I did not test any rides with 3ds, nor any ride with tunnels. I had my headphones in, so I can't really say anything about volume.
Install went on without a hitch. Desktop icons appeared right away too. I was able to activate my copy without any issues either.
What does not
Editor. The whole place where you can see your track was black. However, all the toolbars did appear. But everything else is pointless without being able to see your coaster, right?
Workarounds
What was not tested
I only tested the basics. When I loaded the editor, I saw it was black. I clicked on a few other views, and since they were black too, I just closed out of it. On the simulator, I only rode one ride, and only half of it. I figured nothing else exciting was going to happen. Nothing else besides those were tested.
I did not test the Terraformer either, but if you can't edit a track, the terraformer is already useless.

Additional Comments
Editor is complete junk. It's nice if you don't plan on building your own coasters, but if you do, it isn't usable. For my rating, I would give the simulator a Platinum, and the Editor Junk. I did not test with the newest version of 1.71. From my understanding, the only changes were the addition of new train styles and individual support menu, things that would not effect the simulator. Even in Windows, I notice a difference between 1.6 and 1.71 in terms of FPS, with 1.71 being slower. As the FPS are already lower in Linux, I figured I would install the version with a higher FPS. (The individual support editor is what hurts the FPS, especially in wooden coasters.) As a side note, the frame rates are way down, but thats to be expected. Originally, I only received a frame rate of 0 to 1. But when I installed driver updates for my cheap graphics card, the frame rates hovered around 33 with no track infront of me. When there was track however, they dropped to around low 20's. For a benchmark, TV's transmit at 29.97 FPS.
