What works

• Installing the game (Follow my notes in the extra comments to make the game find the CD)
• Video output on full screen and, with virtual desktop, in window mode
• Audio output
• Playing with Gamepad. My PS4 controller, connected via Bluetooth, worked out of the box without any configuration! Left stick for movement and the 4 buttons for your abilities and to jump.

Additional Comments

To not run into the crash issue, reported as Bug 39252 follow the following setup steps:

1. Create your wine prefix and be sure to have WINEPREFIX exported
2. Run
   $ wine explorer
   to open a explorer window
3. Navigate to your CD drive (should be D:)
4. Start the setup EXE file from there
5. Follow setup instructions. If you are asked whether you want to install Direct X, select "Yes"
6. After finishing the setup you can start the game (with inserted CD!) using the start link which was created by the game setup

This way the game will find the CD when launched.

I would recommend you to configure wine to have a "virtual desktop" in winecfg. The game is pretty low-res for current screens so it looks much nicer if played in the "virtual desktop" window.
