What works

Installer, gameplay, graphics, videos, settings, saving, 32-bit and 64-bit wineprefixes.

Good fps, graphics look really good. Given low-spec of my laptop, pretty impressive.

What does not

It crashes after either a certain amount of time, or at certain points in the game. Sometimes this is with a Visual C++ generic error, but most of the time no error messages, it just freezes up. Couldn't get past the first chapter 

It's well documented this game crashes a LOT for some users and think this was the general problem. I tried Visual C++ 2005, 2008, 2010, 2015 via winetricks in different combinations, 32-bit and 64-bit versions, changing OffscreenRenderingMode to fbo, pbuffer and backbuffer. Windowed and fullscreen mode, different Windows versions, even different game.exe files.

Each configuration worked - but always crashed eventually, never with an error in the wine console which was the strangest thing. It's a shame as otherwise the game played really well without any other issues, after the problem with in-game videos was resolved. It would be Gold if it weren't for the crashing problem. Have given up trying to solve this one.

Additional Comments

Quartz and ffdshow successfully made the videos viewable as explained below in the how to. A really worthwhile game in wine, if you can make it stable... Have given this Silver, as don't believe this game was a problem in wine.
