Actually it is installable and it does work well.
The trick is to a)Set wine to Win98 and b)cancel each of the screens that comes up when you first try to run the installed program.
If you don't cancel the Register and Create a Mailbox screens you will get the error. If you do cancel and then got to tools-Options-Getting Started and enter the info for your mail box it will work fine.
Set the Secure Sockets to NEVER. Saves a lot of hassle.
The only hangup I have is the inability to paste into Eudora. Copy something from the browser and it does not paste into Eudora. This occurs in Ubuntu and PC-BSD.
Why?? And how do I fix it??
What does not
Paste is the only thing.
