What works
I am happy to report that everything seems to work. The installer works fine by just running "wine setup32.exe" in the main directory of the cd. The game starts up after the installer.
Make sure that you plug in the dance mat before you run wine in order for wine to detect it. Wine detected and uses the USB dance mat just fine.
Navigation works from keyboard and / or dance mat.

Only tested single-player main game and exercise mode. I do not yet have a second dance mat for testing two player mode.

I, my wife and toddler are VERY happy that we don't have to leave linux in order to play this game! The wine coders and community rock!
