Everything appears to work with the exception of the USB smartcable; if you use the optional Ethernet smartcable this version seems to completely work under WINE.
What does not
USB smartcable, unfortunately for some stupid reason, they disabled support for the SERIAL smartcable in this IDE. In order to debug/download you will need to get the optional Ethernet smartcable (~$60.00).
What was not tested
I believe I tested everything
My kernel is the generic version 188.8.131.52 from kernel.org. This IDE was tested on both an HP Core Duo laptop and a Athlon64 Desktop custom. The Zilog Encore! Development IDE works fine supporting the SERIAL (even via $9 USB/serial converter) or ETHERNET smartcable, why they dropped the SERIAL support in the ZNEO.?
