What works

Playing the game (7-question variant), except Jack Attack.

What does not

Installing the game doesn’t work. When the displaying the license agreement, the ‘I accept the terms of this agreement’ checkbox and the ‘Next’ button is greyed out. It’s supposed to become available for checking when you scroll you down the license agreement (to indicate that you’ve read the entire text), but this doesn’t happen when running the game under Wine.

Installing the game on Windows, and then copying the resulting game’s folder to a Linux system, the game seems to run fine under Wine, with one important exception. In Jack Attack (the final round in the 7-round game), all the text turn into solid coloured blocks when they are rescaled (or just moving?). This makes this final round almost impossible to play.

In other rounds, the yellow answers also turns into coloured blocks when they first appear (they should be ‘scaled’ into view), but this isn’t a problem, as they end up as normal text.

Additional Comments

I used the download edition of ‘You Don’t Know Jack’ from Amazon.com (YDNJ Vol. 1 XL, part of the ‘You Don't Know Jack Classic Pack’). I believe this uses a different installer than the original CD-ROM version of the game (which others have reported works fine).
