- Installation - Basic program functions - QuickTime Support (with QuickTime 7.5.5) - All effects - Layer transformation and 3d Layers - Importing QuickTime files (.mov .mp4) - Importing of Windows Media Video (.wmv) - Importing of image files and image sequence files (.jpeg, .png, .tif) - Audio Import for audio muxed or converted to QuickTime (.mov .mp4) - Audio Import for Windows Media Audio (.wma) - Loading .aep project files. - Open GL (with supported graphics card) - Ram Preview - Rendering movies to an output file (.mov) (.avi) - Limited .avi support
What does not
-Import of .avi files not created in After Effects. -Common audio formats (.mp3 an .wav) crash After Effects when imported. -Enabling compiz may crash the program. -On occasion ram previewing video with audio enabled may freeze After Effects, this depends on your computer as it happens only on my desktop and not on my laptop.
What was not tested
-Image formats other than .jpeg, .png, and .tif -Video formats other than .mov .mp4 .wmv and .avi -Audio formats other than .wav .mp3 .wma and .mov
For QuickTime Support you'll need to install and earlier version of QuickTime using Wine. QuickTime 7.5.5 seems to do the trick. Also try installing it on more than one machine as my desktop has minor issues with muxed audio but my laptop has none. Rinse, wash, repeat, results may vary.
