So far during testing, the game plays exactly like it has on the PC. Installed correctly through steam, then it installed directx and openal (openal had no text but could continue) and then I could play.
What does not
As far as I can tell, everything works. The game works, the sound works, the tutorial works, the game play works.
What was not tested
100% completion is not done. I've spent 30 hours on this on xbox 360, and another 20 hours on windows 7, and just now I've tried it for 2 hours on Ubuntu11.04 under wine and it runs exactly as it did on those platforms.
Assuming you have steam installed, this will install and play correctly. I own this from steam so I couldn't test it by itself.

I got it running by copying a dpnet.dll from my windows partition into ~/.wine/drive_c/windows/system32/
Then do WINEDLLOVERRIDES="dpnet=n" regsvr32.exe dpnet.dll
Then WINEDLLOVERRIDES="dpnet=n" wine Puzzle\ Quest\ Demo.exe
