What works

Everything as far as I've seen, single player story mode works, single player "normal race" mode works since .53, overall performance is pretty good

What does not

Playing without NoCD fix; you will still need the CD, program crashes if it isn't inserted! Also hangs from time to time (loading screen)

Rating this gold for now because of need for NoCD fix. I haven't played it too far but from what I've seen there shouldn't be any big problems.

How to bypass "pressing enter doesn't start race" bug
For some distros there is a max opened files limit that is too small for this game - Debian is one of such distros for example. This will prevent you from starting a race because keyboard will go dead. To fix this you need to increase max opened file limit. For Debian - simply put something like this in /etc/security/limits.conf:

USERNAME hard nofile 655355

(of course, change USERNAME to your user name ;] )

and re-log - this should allow you to play this game just fine.

This "bug" also affects Sonic Heroes.

NOTE: This is NOT wine bug - this is simply a security measure in some distributions.
