Installing, running configuration utility, playing the game
What does not
Network (i.e. multiplayer) options grayed out in menu.
What was not tested
Skirmish games against the computer. The setup screen worked normally, but I didn't actually start a game. Should work similar to the campaign missions, though.
1.I had to set the resolution via the configuration utility to 1680 x 1050 in order to make the game display properly on my (widescreen) monitor. Before that, I got the weird quarter-screen thing another tester here mentioned. 2. I've tried lowering all the graphical settings except resolution to their lowest, but the framerate still slows to a crawl once a sizeable number of units are on the screen. I haven't taken any actual measurements, but I was well below 10 FPS by the time I was halfway through the third or fourth campaign mission (I have an nVidia Geforce 8800 GT). 3. Load times for graphics are extremely long. This affects mission loading times (somewhere around five minutes each for the campaign missions I've played, which include extensive cutscenes), animal combination times in the in-game Combiner, and that plus menu load times in the out-of-game Combiner (due to the large number of animals). 4. The terrain tiles in some areas are black. I'm not sure why. This doesn't affect gameplay, as buildings and units on them appear normally, but nothing I tried corrected it.
