What works
Installing the game Playing the game as single player - both paged and scrolly sims Joining multiplayer games Old sims like Swindon work even better than in Windows (Vista and 7). The error message when the program is closed (D3DRM.DLL is needed but not anymore in this version of Windows), does not appear in Wine.
What does not
Font, except when you install a registry file from the SimSig website. (When you don't, the timetables are readable but look like a mess) Hosting a multiplayer game seems to be working OK, but players can't connect. The messagebox (F10), popup messages and timetables may hide behind another window of the game. The user manual, but the version coming with the game is from 2005, some articles even older. The updated items can be read on the Wiki of http://www.simsig.co.uk.
Workarounds
