wine does have a registy, and it can gather garbage just like the windows registry. running regseeker can help with some of the errors encountered during "wineboot" sanning is fast, however if you select "scan drives for old .exe entries", it can take up to 30 min+ on a large hard drive --- wine conflicts by Andrew on Saturday May 26th 2007, 19:23 if you are using wine 0.9.3* and have used IEs4Linux to install IE, regseeker may find many of the following "path or file does not exist" for many fonts used by IEs4Linux, DO NOT REMOVE these font keys. they are in fact valid keys. if they are deleted wine may look gliched or may not even function. use the add to ignorelist function on these font files to keep them from being detected. if by chance you accidently delete these keys do not try to restore them using the restore function. instead type in "regedit" in terminal to open up the wine registry editor. go to file, and select 'import keys" and import the backup file in the regseeker directory that you want to restore, it should be under /yourhomefolder/yourwinedirectory/Program Files/Regseeker/Backups/yourbackupfile*.reg
