A fan-produced patch to the official 1.5 version, this turns off CD checking as well as adding a number of new features. These include new engine sounds, user-controllable pitch for the props, a much improved sky, new damage models and fixes to weapons effects, among others.
Installer works fine.
What does not
The game itself. After starting the main screen comes up and the "radio" starts playing as expected. Moving the mouse and clicking results in the "shuffling paper" sound effect that occurs when properly navigating the menus. However, the screen is entirely black.
What was not tested
I believe the game is actually quite close to being runnable, and would likely work to some degree if one could navigate the menus into the 3D portion of the game. This problem, black 2D screens, seems to haunt all of my older games. However, since I am using CrossOver and am fairly newbie when it comes to wine itself, I'm not sure how much I can help.
