Mouse cursor in game menu is still invisible. If game runs in window, X cursor is visible, though.
To workaround bug 8037, patch 'workaround 2' needs to be applied.
Game can crash randomly with the following

Game will crash in strategic mode when 'Base' button pressed unless in-game shaders set to 'low' and 'scenery background' is disabled.
Game will crash in tactical mode when other than 'Normal Vision' is set.
In-game 'software sound' needs to be enabled to prevent alsa buffer
