Seems like everything works perfectly now after the .9.57. That release included a fix to the mouse overlay bug. The game is best run without compiz running.

The 1.02 and earlier version 1.00 have some bugs.
For example crashes in the backyard of Oleg's house and a few not clickable icons (with some graphic cards)
Update to 1.03 and use the latest wine version.
