Secret Files: Tunguska

What works

This was somewhat harder than I thought.
The game was installed from a version 1.0 retail Dvd and later upgraded to version 1.02.
Installation was smooth, but the game didn't even start without some tweaks:
A no-cd patch was needed to start the game. The protection system prevents it from running otherwise.
A native d3dx9_26 dll is needed otherwise the game will crash soon after loading.

What does not

The game was played from start to finish and everything worked fine except for
in-game movies. Movies will play, but after a while the image blurs and it is
impossible to distinguish what goes on. Some moving backgrounds (tree branches, waterfall) have a similar problem: their form and colors turn from the intended ones into a shapeless rainbow delimited by background contours.

Additional Comments

Alsa driver performs somewhat better than the Oss one. The game crashes often for no apparent reason. Sometimes a crash occurs when you click on hot-spots too quickly, sometimes if you let the main character stand, doing nothing for too long... Anyway you better save often.

The 1.02 and earlier version 1.00 have some bugs.
For example crashes in the backyard of Oleg's house and a few not clickable icons (with some graphic cards)
Update to 1.03 and use the latest wine version.
